Historic mansion, the Wyeth-Tootle Manor is located at 11th & Charles sts. William M. Wyeth built it in 1879. It was designed in Gothic style by Eckel and Mann Architects. They gathered ideas from their European travels and built the mansion in 1883. The Tootles owned the house from 1887 until it was sold.
The mansion has three floors, and a tower. The house is home to more than 40 rooms. Beautiful woodwork, imported stained glass, and hand-painted ceilings are just a few of the features found in the interior. Visitors can also experience life in the late nineteenth century. He was also a member and past president of the Wyeth Duck Club (St. Joseph Duck Club) and the Audubon Society (St. Joseph Duck Club). He was also president of the St. Joseph Hardware Company.
