The Wyeth – Tootle Manor is a historic house located at 11th & Charles sts. William M. Wyeth built the mansion in 1879. Mann Architects designed it in Gothic style. They gathered ideas from their European travels and built the mansion in 1883. The Tootles owned the house from 1887 until it was sold.
The mansion includes three floors and one tower. The house contains more than 40 rooms. The interior is decorated with beautiful woodwork, handpainted ceilings, and imported stain glass. The interior allows visitors to experience the life of a late 19th-century resident. The Wyeth–Tootle Mansion can be found near St. Joseph in Missouri. Huston Wyeth was a well-known businessman and held many positions within the city. He was involved in the city's manufacturing and art industries. He served as president of the Humane Society of St. Joseph, and on the board of Blue Valley Creamery Co. He was also involved at the American Museum of Natural History and the Waterways League of America. He was also a member, among others, of the Wyeth Duck Club and St. Joseph Duck Club. He was also president of the St. Joseph Hardware Company.
